Government Proposes Amendments to the Higher Vocational Education Act
The Government has reached an agreement on the content of the proposed Act Amending the Higher Vocational Education Act and has submitted it to the National Assembly for consideration through an expedited procedure. The primary objective of the proposed act is to streamline the application process for higher vocational programs by migrating applications to the eVŠ online portal. This will create a standardized application system for all tertiary education and simplify the enrollment process for higher vocational programs. The proposed amendments align with the government's goal of consolidating electronic services on a single website to enhance user convenience.
Government Adopts the Medium-Term Defence Programme of the Republic of Slovenia 2023–2028
Building upon the new Resolution on the Long-Term Programme for the Development and Equipment of the Slovenian Armed Forces until 2040, the Government has approved the Medium-Term Defence Programme of the Republic of Slovenia 2023–2028. This programme outlines the priorities for the development of the defense system and the modernization of the Slovenian Armed Forces in the medium term. Emphasizing development and investment, the programme sets an accelerated timeline for the construction of critical capacities and represents one of the most significant investment cycles in the modernization of the Slovenian Armed Forces. The objective is to bridge the development gap that has emerged over the past decade and involve the Slovenian defense industry, research institutions, and development organizations in capacity-building efforts to achieve a higher level of self-sufficiency in Slovenia's defense system.
